Furthermore, even if temperatures are expected to go up on average, one cool spring isn't enough to disprove that hypothesis, no more than a single smoker who does not develop lung cancer disproves the hypothesis that smoking increases the incidence of lung cancer.

Interesting point, but if you look at the historic record and the geologic record, climate change is the norm.
Climate is always getting warmer or cooler, wetter or drier.
